21, 1979 The Clash Live at the Palladium Concert Ticket Stub - New York. Amazing night in music history as the Clash took the stage at the Palladium in New York City for the second straight night. The concert on the September 21st was filmed (see footage on Youtube) and recorded for the crazy popular The Clash Live USA (Bootleg) album. Pennie Smith had photographed the show the night before on September 20th, capturing one of the most famous images in rock history when Paul Simonon swung his bass over his head, smashing it onto the stage in a fit of frustration! The instantly-recognizable shot was used on the cover of London Calling.
