Here's a genuine 1963 ROLLING STONES stub from October 12th 1963 at the Gaumont in Doncaster, UK. You will not find a stub or a ticket from 1963 that shows The Rolling Stones on it. This was their very first tour and since they were just starting out, they were very much just an opening act.

They may have had released a single or two, but they did not even have an album out yet. On this inaugural tour, they would open for Little Richard, Bo Diddley and The Everly Brothers. At the time, most if not all of the well known musical stars were American.

Even the songs most British bands played at the time were mostly by American artists. Wow, The Rolling Stones are one of the few bands that can be documented consistently putting out new music and touring for this length of time. That's over 55 years and running now! They may turn out to be the longest touring band that ever existed. A few other bands competing to hold that honor are The Moody Blues, The Who, Rush, ZZ Top and Golden Earring.
